My Experience at St. Jude's

I feel very proud to call myself a Judian and belong to the Judian family. I entered St. Jude's Public School & Junior College in the year 2011, the year of our historic win at MRC. I am very proud that I was a part of that athletic contingent in my very first year. The coaching that I received at St. Jude's is exemplary and laid a good foundation for me. My coach was really exceptional and I would like to define a good coach as thus; ‘A coach isn't your friend but a person who is there to push you beyond what you thought was possible or what you couldn't do on your own. The school has a good teaching faculty and all my teachers have been good coaches to me. The school has played an imperative role in bringing out the best from me and all my other fellow students. The laurels that the school have won in the recent past is a testimony to my statement.

"People often say motivation doesn't last long. Well neither does bathing, that's why we recommend it every day." This quote reminds me of my Principal who motivates her students at every given opportunity. I am now pursuing my under graduation in Manchester and miss all the motivational sessions that I received at school. Now, I understand that it is very difficult to find people who care and adopt measures to improve the personality of the students placed under them.

The ISC curriculum that the school teaches, is very challenging and it provokes the students to think independently. All the teachers are well qualified and have prepared me well to enter the business world. The school is located on the top of a hill and the view is awesome. Every morning, I used to rush to the ground to relish the spectacular view and to feel the mountain breeze. Our Principal always tells us that St. Jude's is like a buffet meal; you have everything and all that you have to help yourself with what you want. Having been there for two years, I know that the statement is very true. Every student is gifted with certain talent and the school taps out those potentials through various competitions that are conducted regularly.

I felt homesick when I first joined the school but my friends and teachers made me feel at home. I hold the memories I spent with my friends very dear and will always cherish them. Apart from imparting good education, my school has inculcated a lot values into me. It has helped me realize the value of community living. All the Judians will unanimously agree that their lives have changed for the better after joining this wonderful school. I have felt the change in me and the others must have felt it too. I have spent two years at St. Jude's and they have been the best part of my life so far.

Those golden Days

I began my golden days at St Jude's way back in 1993 in class V. I was a bundle of mischief and not brilliant at my lessons. The road was tough and I passed my Board Exams in 1999 with honours. Reflecting back on those golden days, I can proudly say that St. Jude's has made me what I am. It has inculcated into me the values of life- honesty, integrity and self-reliance. My heartfelt thanks to the dear founders,Mr.& Mrs. Dhanarajan and the wonderful team of staff. I still feel proud to call myself a ‘Judian.'

My words of appreciation

I am G. Siva Vikram, IPS (2012 Batch), Kerala Cadre. When I received a call from Mrs. Saro Dhanarajan asking me to write about St. Jude's and my fond memories of the place and times, I was flooded with a wave of nostalgia. I joined St.Jude's in class VI and spent 5 years of my life here and passed out in the year 2000 with loads of memories to cherish for life. A boarding school is one's home away from home. Slowly as time goes by, one's home merely becomes a holiday destination. I can say with the utmost conviction that the time spent at St. Jude's was filled with happiness and was a time of growing and learning the big and the small things of life. The motto of the school – ‘Self Reliance' best defines what the school is set out to do and what best it did to me. The school is what it is today because of two simple and passionate people Mr. and Mrs. Dhanarajan. St. Jude's is blessed with the most dedicated teaching faculty who were more than teachers to most of us; I recollect the time spent playing badminton and cricket with many of them. I remember how this school has inculcated into me a spirit of excelsior and how I have always strived to live up to it. I recently visited the school and met Mr.C.P. Pillai, who was my class teacher and Mrs. Shobhana. The visit was a journey down memory lane. I could recall to the minutest detail a lot of shenanigans that made our time so much fun. My school laid a solid foundation for me, and a great amount of credit for what I am today goes to St. Jude's Public School and to an affectionate and nurturing Mrs. Saro Dhanarajan. I wish St. Jude's and everyone who is a part of it the very best.

Place where I discovered my potentials

St. Jude's is the place where I discovered my potentials and got to know myself better. It had equipped me with the knowledge and standards that I needed to pursue my higher studies. I still remember vividly my first few days of discomfort at a boarding school and my teachers there making me feel at home. The teachers at St. Jude's put in a lot of effort to shape our lives. Mrs. Saro Dhanarajan has taught me to face things boldly and has helped me believe that prayers can work miracles in our lives. My school memories that I treasure warm my heart and make me smile at any given situation. St.Jude's has taught me to me bold, independent and self-disciplined. My teachers have guided me through and encouraged me in all my efforts. I really feel proud to be a part of the Judian Family. The time I had spent at St. Jude's has been the best phase of life so far.

The best gift I have received from my parents is my life at St. Jude's.

I am V. Mridulla Abirami and had been a student at St. Jude's Public School and Junior College from 2001-2013. Right now, I am doing my MBBS at Annapoorna Medical College and Hospitals (Dr. Mgr University) Salem. Though I am an Ex-Judian, I still feel that I am a member of the Judian family. St. Jude's has played a very important role in my life. I stepped into the school as a tiny toddler, as clay and my teachers have moulded me into a very talented girl. The encouragement of the teachers has converted my dreams into ambition. The small responsibilities and duties assigned to me while at school, help me face great challenges today. The public speaking skills that I had obtained has made me bold and confident to face the outside world. The school has taught me the essentials of life-spiritual courage, self-reliance and humility. I treasure every stage of my life at St. Jude's. My parents look upon me with pride and heart full of satisfaction for having chosen the right institution. I thank the management, Mr. and Mrs. Dhanarajan and my teachers for helping, guiding and supporting me through all stages of life and also for looking after me as their own child. Without them I would not have been what I am today. One will never know the value of St. Jude's unless one becomes an Ex-Judian. The best gift I have received from my parents is my life at St. Jude's.
